Ian Thomas

Chairman since 2009

Ian Thomas became President of Boeing Australia and South Pacific in March 2009. He is responsible for government affairs and coordinates all Boeing activities in Australia and the South Pacific region. Previously, Thomas was president of Boeing India, having been appointed to that position in January 2007. He was responsible for leading Boeing’s enterprise-wide India team, strengthening the company’s local presence and finding new ways to pursue growth and productivity initiatives. Thomas reports to Shep Hill, president of Boeing International. From 2002 to 2005, Thomas served as vice president, Business Development, leading Boeing’s defense activities in the United Kingdom. Previously, he served as director of International Policy for Boeing’s Military Aircraft and Missile Systems division in St. Louis, Missouri. Thomas joined The Boeing Company in 2001. From 1997 to 2001, he served in a variety of policy roles at the Pentagon during the Clinton Administration. He holds a master’s degree in international relations and a Ph.D. in history from the University of Cambridge, a graduate degree in social sciences from the University of Stockholm, and a bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in history from Amherst College.

Ross Bogue

Director since 2009

Bogue is vice president and general manager of Boeing Fabrication, an operation of about 14,000 employees that serves as the largest supplier to Boeing Commercial Airplanes. In this role, Bogue leads the largest consolidated operation in the world dedicated to engineering and manufacturing aerospace parts, tools and assemblies. With headquarters in Auburn, Wash., Boeing Fabrication operates parts manufacturing plants in Frederickson, Renton and Everett, Wash; Portland, Ore; Salt Lake City, Utah; Winnipeg, Canada; and Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. Prior to his current assignment, Bogue served as vice president and general manager of the 747 Program, leading the team developing the 747-8 Freighter and the 747-8 passenger version, the Intercontinental, and producing the 747-400. He concurrently served as the Everett site leader, responsible for maintaining customer and community relationships, meeting airplane delivery commitments and ensuring the safety and security of employees, the Everett plant, its property and equipment. Bogue earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Puget Sound in 1979, and a Master’s in Management as a Sloan Fellow from Stanford University in 1995. He is a 1991 graduate of the Executive Education Program at the Joseph B. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Bogue serves on several boards – including the Aerospace Industry Manufacturing Seminar at the University of Washington – and is a Seattle Children’s Hospital Quality Committee member.

David Crouch

Director since 2008

Crouch is managing director of Aviall Australia Pty Limited and Aviall New Zealand Pty Limited. Aviall is headquartered in Dallas, Texas and is one of the world’s largest providers of new aviation parts and related aftermarket operations. Crouch oversees the Australian and New Zealand operations of Aviall, which has facilities in Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland. He joined Aviall in 1998 and was appointed a Director of the company in November 2003. Boeing acquired Aviall in September 2006. Crouch graduated from the University of Ballarat and is a Chartered Accountant and CPA. Prior to joining Aviall he was a partner at Peat Marwick, who shortly after that time merged to form KPMG.

John Duddy

Director since 2009

Duddy is vice president and managing director of Boeing Defence Australia. In this role, Duddy is responsible for positioning Boeing’s defence activities in Australia for continued success. He manages all Boeing Defence Australia functions including engineering, finance and operations, as well as Boeing Defence Australia’s 13 sites across the country and three international locations. Duddy has been with The Boeing Company for 27 years in various senior management roles including Program Director of Global Positioning Systems Programs and Director of Integrated Product Teams, Delta Launch Vehicles.

Tom Forbes

Director since 2009

Forbes is business management director for Jeppesen’s Rail, Logistics and Terminals (RLT) business unit. He is responsible for Jeppesen’s Rail and Terminals business throughout the world, including clients such as Deutsche Bahn, RailCorp, Queensland Rail, Rome Met.Ro, Heathrow Airport and many others. Forbes began his career in transportation call centres and developed a keen interest in the power of embedding optimisation capability into software solutions. He was the project lead on the first public transport journey planning website in Australia. Forbes then worked developing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions before running the UK subsidiary of the Brisbane-based operations research software development firm Opcom in 2000. In 2006 he returned to Australia with Opcom, subsequently acquired by Carmen Systems of Sweden, and was appointed Business Development Manager for Asia Pacific. Carmen Systems was acquired by Jeppesen and Forbes was promoted into the role of Rail Product Manager, responsible for the P&L of Jeppesen’s global Rail business. Forbes earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Queensland University of Technology in 2006.

Rick McCrary

Director since 2008

Rick McCrary is vice president of Australia Business Development for Boeing Defence Space & Security (BDS) based in Canberra Australia. McCrary oversees the Business Development and Customer Relations activities for Integrated Defense Systems programs in Australia. Prior to this assignment, McCrary was director of F/A-18 International Operations for the Super Hornet program in St. Louis. Throughout his Boeing career, McCrary has served in Program Management, Strategic Planning, Business Development and Marketing positions for a variety of programs including Advanced Cruise Missile, Joint Strike Fighter and F/A-18. Additionally, he served as Field Marketing Representative for the USAF programs with responsibility for F-15 and JDAM, and a three year assignment in Canberra. As Program Manager F/A-18 Australia, he led the program execution including profit and loss for the upgrade of the Royal Australian Air Force fleet of F/A-18A/B aircraft. McCrary joined Boeing following retirement from the United States Air Force. During his 20-year career as a U.S. Air Force pilot, he accumulated more than 3400 hours of flight time in high performance aircraft including the SR-71. He also held staff positions in requirements and acquisition for low observable and reconnaissance systems at Major Command and USAF Headquarters. Rick holds a bachelor of arts degree in Philosophy from Georgia State University and a master of science degree in Systems Management from St. Mary’s University.

Mark Ross

Director since 2006

Ross is managing director of Boeing Aerostructures Australia (BAA), formerly Hawker de Havilland, and is responsible for leading design and manufacturing operations for composite aircraft components including Australia’s largest aerospace contract for the movable trailing edge control surfaces for the 787 Dreamliner. BAA’s core capabilities cover research and development, design, fabrication, assembly, test and certification of components embodying advanced composite materials. Previously, Ross was president, Boeing Canada Technology and general manager of Boeing Winnipeg division, the largest aerospace composite manufacturer in Canada. Ross graduated from of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, and in 1995 received a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Washington. Ross is a member of the Manufacturing Sector Advisory Committee for the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Vasundara Srenivas

Director since 2009

Vasundara Srenivas is Boeing Defence Australia’s Director of Finance. In this role, Srenivas leads all financial, contractual and business management operations, and sets the strategic direction and management framework for contracts and pricing, taxation, and financial planning and analysis. Srenivas joined Boeing Defence Australia as the Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis in April 2008 and was responsible for Estimate at Completion and rates management, forecasting, mergers and acquisitions and internal and offshore reporting. Prior to joining Boeing Defence Australia, Srenivas worked in a senior finance position for Raytheon Australia in Canberra. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and has a double Masters qualification in Commerce and Business Administration. She is also a Certified Practicing Accountant and a qualified cost accountant.

James Surber

Director since 2009

Jim Surber is the director for International Business Support for the Boeing Shared Services Group (SSG). This responsibility includes ensuring alignment between the Shared Services initiatives, plans and strategies with those of Boeing International and its Boeing business-partner operations in non-U.S. locations. In this role, he also manages the deployment of services to all international locations. Surber reports to the SSG president and is a member of the SSG leadership team. He also serves on the Boeing International Leadership Team. Surber leads an integrated business process for the Shared Service’s international operations, which supports more than 20 Boeing International offices. Prior to his appointment to International Services, Surber was the director of International Finance in SSG Finance and Business.

Rick Westmoreland

Director since 2005

Westmoreland is VP Sales Australia & Pacific Islands for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. He is a 25-year veteran of the aerospace industry and has spent the last 12 years in BCA sales.  Prior to his current assignment, Westmoreland was responsible for commercial airplane sales in Japan. He has had a variety of assignments in both technical and marketing departments on programs such as commercial airplanes, Jetfoil, AWACS, Peace Shield, and product research & development. He graduated from Washington State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and his post-graduate studies were done at California State University. More recently, Westmoreland has graduated from the Boeing Executive Programs I & II in St. Louis, Missouri. Westmoreland is an active supporter of many charitable groups including Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, Boeing Good Neighbours Fund and the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Centre.
